The Chairman of Civil Society Platform on Oil and Ghana (CSPOG), Dr. Steven Manteaw has revealed that he is optimistic the campaign to rid the extractive sector of corruption can be a reality if Ghanaians support the fight.
The Civil Society Platform on Oil and Gas (CSPOG), has upped its tracking of the petroleum revenue for evidence-based abuses. Dr. Steve Manteaw, its Chairman, said they were going to focus on six selected districts in the Western Region – Ahanta West, Nzema East, Ellembelle, Shama, Jomoro and Sekondi-Takoradi.
The Civil Society Platform on Oil and Gas (CSPOG) welcomes government’s change of mind, and assurance that it will not fall on the Heritage Fund to support its Free SHS programme, a decision which would have undermined the national consensus, achieved through extensive consultations and intense negotiations among Ghanaians on how much of the oil revenue to spend now and how much to save against the future.
